My name is Mark S. Barletta and I am 55 years old.
When I was 32 I was also involved in a really bad car accident. A Cement
truck ran me off the Freeway, and when my little Toyota went off the pavement my
car rolled over 5 times. The roof collapsed and came down on my the top of my
head compressing all the disc in my neck. I walked away from that accident without a bruise.
But the ER doctor said that I might have neck problems when I get older.
    When I turned 38 the pain started.Then when I was 48 I was stopped at a red
light and this lady ran in to the back of me, I got the worse whiplash ever and
that pain never went away. Eventually I lost my job and my company car the same
day, this is when my life was turned upside down. I had to apply for Social
Security disability that took me 3 years to get.

Finally in 1999 I found Dr.Joel Hochman, he was a Psychiatrist that treated
Intractable pain. Within 3 months of seeing him he had my pain under control, my
pain level dropped from a 8 to a 3 on a scale from 1 thru 10. I was so relieved
and wanted to give back to other people that where in that place I was for 10
years suffering every day in severe pain. So I started to Advocate for those
suffering like i did. And somehow it came to me like I had been doing it my
whole life. I had a procedure I did, I had to have the findings from a MRI or Cat Scan before
    I would help someone.
So I've been dealing with chronic pain close to 20 years now.

The National Foundation for the Treatment of Pain was the website I worked on.
We where the first website to Advocate directly for people suffering from
Intractable pain. Dr. Joel Hochman was the Executive Director.
Last year we lost Dr. Hochman to kidney cancer and my
job came to a end. I found a new doctor but I'm looking for a website to
    continue my work on.

    Kind Regards,
     Mark S. Barletta
